High End Moka Pot for Great Coffee -
Expensive, but well made.
Great looking piece of kit, works well.
I wanted a stainless steel moka-pot to go on a glass-topped halogen hob.
We have had a couple of less expensive pots from a famous maker that were poorly made. I went ahead and spent the money on the 6 cup version of the Sapper pot by Alessi. However, I found that I frequently made half a pot and messing about with the 3 cup adapter was a mess and a fiddle. So when I had the opportunity I went ahead and bought the 3 cup version. Perhaps it is a bit excessive but I'm very happy with this purchase.
Things to be aware of:
Alessi Spare parts aren't easy to come by.
3 Cups is 150ml about a 3rd of a large mug.
It's not Espresso, but it is STRONG and can easily stand a bit of dilution (Americano style).
Coarse grinds work best as the holes in the funnel are not particularly fine.
The base is only 11cm in diameter - a smallish ring on your hob is...
