Excellent build, with two step heat
This is a very good imitation of a wood burning stove, obviously when compared directly there is a huge difference, but isolated, in the situation of an alcove it is very good. It doesn't look aged and although it has a cast iron effect (which it achieves) this does make it stick out a bit more if it is against an old build in fireplace. It is a very solid build, which doesn't heat up at all except the fan, so it's fine to place near other objects (with a 15cm warning).
The door is magnetic, with strong glass and a well designed handle, the plate that conceals the controls is also magnetically shut and strong. It conceals the controls very well, adding to the overall effect.
The controls are made up of a thermostat wheel on the left, two switches, both producing 950W of heat through the fan, a flame effect switch and on the far right a wheel controlling the intensity of the flame effect.
Once on it produces a similar noise to one of the old electric...
