I was lucky enough to accidentally find this on an excellent warehouse deal or I could not have afforded to purchase. Having said that the cost is prohibitive they save an enormous amount of fuel that in the long term pay for themselves. I regularly search amazon warehouse now to see if I can find more to buy for my children as presents and other sizes for myself.
Such a wonderful updating of the traditional 'hay box' method of cooking well known to Girl Guides and Scouts at camp in the old days. I remember 50+ years ago starting the lunch at breakfast time by bringing the stew to a good simmer and then putting the massive stock pot into a wooden box packed with hay, putting the lid on and then going on a 4 hour hike to return to camp starving with a hot meal ready to eat with hunks of bread.
In fact before I found this wonderful hot pan I had made my own in desperation one day when a casserole was not ready before we had to leave the house and didn't want to...
