Having tried an MP105 press I was experiencing huge problems with faded edges (handle end and top and bottom - very inconsistent printing and generally poor quality) - the element in the MP105 was simply not up to the job. This one looked like a good option without spending too much money, and it was reassuring to read another review from someone saying they did not have faded edge problems with this unit from PixMax. So, first mug attempt was faded throughout, so I hadn't quite got the timings right, but after a total of 3 tests mugs I'd pretty much got my settings sorted and was able to run off a number of consistently good mugs. PixMax provide a little 'getting started' guide which helps as the controls are initially 'mysterious'... Set your holding temp, pressing temp and times and you are good to go.
